Missing Port Orange man with Alzheimer’s found safely, police say

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – An 85-year-old man with Alzheimer’s was found safely after being reported missing, according to the Port Orange Police Department.

Police said Ted Fenwick was last seen leaving his residence in Port Orange around 11 a.m. on Sunday in his red 2019 Infinity QX30 with the license plate APE3R.

According to his family, Fenwick suffers from Alzheimer’s.

Police said photos of his vehicle were captured around 10:15 a.m. on Monday via a license plate reader in St. Augustine at the intersection of eastbound FL-206 and Interstate 95.

According to Port Orange police, he may have been trying to travel to his brother’s home in Maine.

Monday afternoon, police announced that Fenwick had been safely recovered.
