Fire damages two homes in Casselberry, possibly started by downed power line

22 units responded to the blaze, officials say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire that damaged two homes in Casselberry was possibly sparked by a downed power line, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.

Fire officials said crews responded to the fire on Shady Hollow around 4:30 p.m..

According to the fire department, about 50% of one home was damaged, while the other saw damage to about 25%. The fire possibly started between the two homes by a downed power line.

Officials said two patients were treated at the scene for breathing in smoke, but both refused to be transported to the hospital.

Duke Energy is on the scene and the Red Cross has been contacted, according to firefighters.
