State Road A1A reopened near Patrick Space Force Base on Thursday after “law enforcement activity in the area” closed the road in both directions.
S.R. A1A was temporarily shut down north of the Pineda Causeway and south of The Tides Restaurant.
“Please avoid the area at this time,” Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted on X.
“Access to Patrick SFB is currently limited to the South Gate only due to an ongoing investigation at the East Gate,” officials posted on Facebook. “For everyone’s safety and security, the area has been closed to ensure the investigation proceeds without interruption.”
Details about what prompted the law enforcement activity have not been released.
