‘Swatting’ call temporarily puts Brevard County hospital on lockdown; no threats found, police say

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A hospital in Cocoa Beach was placed on lockdown on Saturday evening while law enforcement responded to what officials later described as a “hoax swatting call.”
Officials at Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital said their security team and law enforcement locked down the campus and performed multiple sweeps, but no credible threat was found.

The all-clear was issued around 8:50 p.m. and normal operations were set to resume.
“Health First regularly drills for these situations and we are tremendously grateful for the immediate response of law enforcement and first responders,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
