Man found dead along Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando; investigation underway

Roadway reopens after being closed from Gore to Anderson streets

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was found dead early Tuesday in downtown Orlando, prompting a death investigation and the closure of a major roadway, police said.

Orange Avenue was closed in both directions near Gore Street after the man was found dead near the street and sidewalk, according to Orlando police.

The roadway, which was closed from Gore to Anderson streets, was fully reopened just before 9 a.m.

The cause of the man’s death is under investigation.

“We encourage drivers to find alternate routes,” OPD posted earlier on X.
