A 24-year-old man accused of shooting and killing another man outside a small Daytona Beach grocery store while wearing a clown mask in November has been arrested, according to the Volusia County Sheriffโs Office.

The Orange Avenue exit ramp (10B) off State Road 408 was closed Wednesday morning because of the depression. Fatal crash halts train in Volusia, prompts traffic alert
A fatal crash has prompted a train to stop in Volusia County, causing a traffic alert. Daytona Beach police tweeted Tuesday morning that drivers should not cross the railroad tracks from Orange Avenue south to Second Street in neighboring Holly Hill. โA train has stopped due to a fatal accident,โ the tweet said. โPlease find a route either north or south of the stopped train.โNo other details have been released.
New plans released for Orange Avenue project in Winter Park
Sketches show potential new development at Orange Avenue and Orlando Avenue in Winter ParkWINTER PARK, Fla. โ Winter Park is considering a new look for Orange Avenue. The Planning & Transportation Department held a virtual public forum on Monday night to show renderings for the Orange Avenue Overlay project. The Winter Park City Commission first approved, then rejected a different Orange Avenue Overlay plan last year. The overlay project is for parcels of land along Orange Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Fairbanks Avenue. They would then extend Palmetto Avenue to Orlando Avenue in hopes of removing some of the traffic on Orange Avenue.
Man killed in hit-and-run on Orange Avenue in Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. โ A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday morning in Orlando, prompting police to close Orange Avenue. The fatal wreck happened near Orange and Pineloch avenues, south of Michigan Street. Investigators say Holmes was crossing South Orange Avenue from west to east when a vehicle, traveling southbound struck the pedestrian and left the scene. Southbound Orange Avenue was closed at Michigan Street, and Orange Avenue was closed in both directions at Pineloch and Southgate Commerce Boulevard. Orange Avenue was reopened around 10:30 a.m., police said.

Instead of a parade, Orlando celebrates MLK with holiday showcase
ORLANDO, Fla. โ The COVID-19 pandemic is cancelling or postponing several events, but one longstanding tradition in Orlando is still going strong. The City of Orlandoโs MLK Parade usually marches down Orange Avenue, but the city made changes to the event this year. Instead of the traditional parade, the city held a performance at the Dr. Phillipโs Center Front Yard Festival. Lorri Shaban with DPAC said 10 acts that normally participate in the parade showed off their talents on the stage. โThis year because we couldnโtโ do the parade we got together with the City of Orlando and we reimagined it,โ Shaban said.

Jessie Chapman, Orlando area commander for The Salvation Army, said the training process this year for distribution day wasnโt an easy feat. This year has been a really, really hard year,โ said a woman named Edith.
Pandemic makes Angel Tree distribution day even more meaningful this year

This year the annual event meant more to some because of economic hardships tied to the coronavirus pandemic. Man, 60, killed when car rear-ends tractor-trailer in Orange County
ORLANDO, Fla. โ A 60-year-old Auburndale man was killed Friday morning in a crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal wreck happened around 4:45 a.m. on Landstreet Road near Orange Avenue. The FHP said the man was driving a car east on Landstreet when a semitrailer in front of him slowed to make a left turn. The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP report. The woman driving the big rig was not injured.
New ramp from SR-408 to open as part of I-4 Ultimate Project
On Saturday, a new ramp from eastbound State Road 408 to Orange Avenue will open for drivers. โThatโs a ramp thatโs been closed since late April while crews reconstructed the ramp,โ David Parks, with I-4 Ultimate Project said. 2 injured in crash at SR 417, Orange Avenue
Two people were rescued from their vehicles Tuesday after a crash on State Road 417, according to Orange County Fire rescue. Fire rescue officials said two patients were extricated from a crash involving two cars with heavy entrapment. Both patients were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in unknown condition. Orlando police looking for 4 people linked to downtown shooting
ORLANDO, Fla. Officers with the Orlando Police Department are looking for four people linked to a downtown shooting. Police said an argument involving four people on motorized scooters escalated to a shooting outside the 64 North bar on Orange Avenue just after midnight on Friday. Investigators said surveillance footage showed two men and two women on scooters were exchanging words with a customer not in the frame of the camera. Officers said the two men and two women tried to enter through the Exit in the railing outside the bar. Investigators said two people were wounded in the shooting and a bar security worker was hospitalized with critical injuries.
Eastbound SR 408 ramp to Orange Avenue closes for 6 months
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. โ Drivers who usually take eastbound State Road 408 to Orange Avenue will need to use a detour for the next six months starting Monday. The closure will take place so crews can demolish the existing ramp and build a new one that will accommodate for a wider State Road 408 East. โTo access Orange Avenue, motorists will need to use the exit to Mills Avenue (Exit 11B), where tolls will be suspended for the duration of the closure. A nonsignalized U-turn will be created on Mills Avenue under S.R. 408, allowing motorists to then enter South Street toward downtown Orlando,โ the Florida Department of Transportation wrote on a web page announcing the closure.
Fatal crash closes Orange Avenue near Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. โ One person was killed early Wednesday in a crash south of Orlando. The fatal wreck was reported at 3:38 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Orange Avenue near Jetport Drive. Northbound Orange Avenue is closed in the area. Officials said a car slammed into the back of a tanker, but no other details about the crash have been released. Landstreet Road can be used as an alternate route.
Winter Park leaders approve controversial Orange Avenue Overlay District
WINTER PARK, Fla. โ City leaders call it the most consequential decision they've made in the last decade, a decision that will help guide the future of one neighborhood in Winter Park. In a 3-2 vote with amendments, Winter Park City Commission approved the Orange Avenue Overlay District Thursday, a 95-acre district that will feature new land development code standards. The Orange Avenue Overlay District spans from Westchester Avenue up to Pennsylvania Avenue. According to city paperwork, the overlay district directly addresses development in the area, and what city leaders call โeconomic stagnationโ thatโs been going on the area for decades. After that, the plan would come back to Winter Park City commissioners for a final approval.
Spring cleaning to begin on storm sewer pipes
Drivers in Orange and Seminole counties can expect to see more overnight construction than usual this week as crews begin a spring cleaning of sorts on the storm sewer pipes.
