BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A GoFundMe was set up for a 15-year-old girl killed earlier this week in an “ambush” shooting in Cocoa.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said Karyah Duncan, of Cocoa, was found on Monday shot outside of Anchors Seafood and Chicken restaurant on Clearlake Road and taken to the hospital, where she later died. She was one of three people who were shot.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey described the shooting as an “ambush” and that it was an “extremely isolated incident.”
The GoFundMe described the young girl as someone “full of promise, compassion, and joy.”
The sheriff’s office said the three victims were in a vehicle in the parking lot of the restaurant when a dark colored SUV pulled behind them, blocking their exit.
Multiple people exited the SUV and began shooting toward the vehicle and the occupants who were attempting to exit it, officials said.

The assailants then got back into the SUV and left the area prior to the arrival of deputies, officials said. The SUV has since been recovered.
A motive in the shooting is not known, but “all indications are that the victims were targeted,” deputies said. The two other victims are expected to survive.
