BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A crash along Interstate 95 on Thursday left a 52-year-old woman dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

In a release, troopers said that the crash happened near Mile Marker 188 in Brevard County around 4 p.m.

At the time, the Ponte Vedra Beach woman was driving a pickup truck south on the highway, troopers added.

But for an “unknown reason,” the truck ran off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a crash attenuator, causing the truck to go airborne, the release shows.

As a result, the truck began overturning, and it struck another vehicle, causing the woman to be ejected, investigators reported. Crash debris also struck a third vehicle that was passing by.

Ultimately, the woman died at the scene, though the drivers of the other two vehicles remained uninjured, troopers said.

No additional information has been provided.
