ORLANDO, Fla. – The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has confirmed to News 6 that United Airlines flight 2323 from Chicago “experienced an issue upon landing” Sunday at Orlando International Airport, leading to its passengers being disembarked.
There were no injuries reported, a GOAA spokesperson said in a statement.
A ground stop is in effect due to an “aircraft emergency” concerning a "disabled aircraft," leading to departure delays now averaging 45 minutes and ground delays 46 minutes at the time of this writing, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The airport’s Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter department was on scene as passengers were disembarked to take buses to the terminal, the statement reads.
In a statement to News 6, United Airlines elaborated slightly and said the flight experienced a “mechanical” issue upon landing.
“Passengers are being bused to the terminal and our team is working to remove the aircraft from the runway,” the statement reads, also reiterating that no injuries were reported.
The plane is an Airbus A321 that carried 200 passengers and six crew, according to United.
