According to the news release from the CBP, the passenger claimed the umbilical cord belonged to a relative and chose to abandon the items, which were then incinerated. It was the second time in two months that airport officials discovered an umbilical cord.

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said Tuesday the AstraZeneca vaccine is set for shipment on Thursday — Japan's second shipment to Taiwan a month after it donated 1.24 million AstraZeneca doses. Under bilateral arrangements, Japan has donated 1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine each to Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. That is part of Japan's pledge last month to donate 30 million doses of vaccine through COVAX and other channels.

Apparently, two United Airlines employees confronted him and asked to see his work ID, which had been reported stolen by an airport operations manager. Now he’s charged with felony criminal trespass to a restricted area of an airport and theft.

Construction of the Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt, named after the former West German chancellor though better known as BER, started in 2006 and it was initially slated to open in October 2011. “Finally we can put our airport into operation — finally,” airport CEO Engelbert Luetke Daldrup said at a brief opening ceremony with national and regional officials. The opening of the new airport's Terminal 2 has been delayed until early next year because it isn't currently needed.
Man tased twice in airport after brawl with officers
Witnesses said a man was smoking at a customer service counter past the security checkpoint after a flight from Orlando. John Huston, who recorded the dramatic arrest, heard the man yelling at airport workers. The pair falls to the ground and as police begin to subdue the man, he begins biting at the officers and attempts to reach for the officer’s gun. Larry Lazar, a traveler from St. Louis, was one of the men who stepped in to help the officers hold the man down. The man was identified as Jerome Toson Jr. Toson was arrested, taken to a hospital and later taken to jail.
