ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando police officer is under investigation after a fatal crash over the weekend, according to the department.
The officer struck and killed a woman early Sunday at the intersection of South Semoran Boulevard and Hoffner Avenue.
While few details about the crash have been provided, police said that the department has launched an internal investigation into an officer involved in the crash.

“In addition to the preliminary accident investigation conducted at the scene, a comprehensive Traffic Homicide investigation is also underway,” the release reads. “Both the internal review of the officer’s actions and the Traffic Homicide investigation remain ongoing and have not yet been completed.”
No other details have been released by police.
