17-year-old shot, killed in Orange County neighborhood

Deputies flock to Piedmont Street at Campanella Avenue

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A teenager was shot and killed early Thursday in an Orange County neighborhood, deputies said.

The fatal shooting happened around 2:50 a.m. on Piedmont Street at Campanella Avenue off Ivey Lane near Carver Middle School.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the area and found a victim who was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified Friday by deputies as 17-year-old Quincy Ross Jr., was taken to a hospital, where he died, officials said.

Authorities initially identified the victim as a man in his 20s.

No other details, including information about the shooter, have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
