WINTER PARK, Fla. – Two men are facing charges in connection with a double shooting that occurred in Winter Park, according to Winter Park Police.
Officers responded to a call on Tuesday that stated two people had been shot in the area of Overlook Road.
Investigators say the two shooting victims were identified as construction workers who were on a job site when the shooting happened. They were taken to the hospital and are currently listed in stable condition, police say.
Police later obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Once the vehicle was located, police say they attempted to stop it. However, the suspects took off.
The chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed in a parking lot in Lake Mary, police say. The suspects were then taken into custody and identified as Frederick Leonzo Callaway and James Robinson.
Both suspects were booked at the Seminole County Jail on the following charges:
- Attempted felony murder
- Armed burglary of a structure
- Armed robbery
- Discharging a firearm from a vehicle within 1,000 feet of any person
- Aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer
- Discharging a firearm in public
Police say, based on their preliminary investigation, the suspects had stolen tools from the construction site. The victims were shot when they approached the suspects, according to investigators.
