Woman considered endangered after disappearing from Marion County campsite

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Marion County deputies are searching for a missing woman who is now considered endangered, according to the sheriff’s office.

In a release, deputies said that the woman — identified as 42-year-old Bonnie Jean Hartley — had been camping in the area of Hopkins Prairie, just south of Salt Springs.

But on Tuesday, family members reported that she had not been seen since Friday, deputies added.

“It is also reported that she may currently be suffering from a mental health crisis,” the release reads. “She left her supplies about 1 mile from her campsite and may also be without food and water.”
