OCOEE, Fla. – A man was arrested after a security vehicle was set ablaze in front of a mall in Ocoee early Wednesday morning, according to the police department.
In an arrest affidavit, police said the incident happened outside the West Oaks Mall around 12:39 a.m.

Upon arrival, police met with the security guard, who advised that his patrol car was on fire in front of the food court entrance.
“I observed a small flame emanating form the rear left side trunk bed area of a white Ford Maverick pickup,” the affidavit reads.
The fire was ultimately extinguished, but police said that firefighters were able to retrieve an item that had been set on fire, which was described as having a “black paper backing” and some writing that read “gofireproducts.”
Investigators said they later used security footage to reveal that a man had approached the vehicle before walking away toward a drain, where he apparently threw an item into the drain.
“The subject also appeared to have a noticeable bump underneath the hoodie near the back of his head,” the affidavit continues. “A pair of orange gloves was later recovered from the drain.”
Eventually, police tracked the suspect down, and he was identified as 19-year-old Daniel Wright, whom officers listed as a “transient.”
Wright was taken into custody and now faces charges of second-degree arson and criminal mischief. He is held without bond.
