ORLANDO, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was arrested in a drive-by shooting in Orlando that left a man dead and a woman injured, police said.
Jerqwavias Jerrell'e Washington was arrested on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
The shooting was reported Friday on Wells Street near Bruton Boulevard.
According to Orlando police spokesman Eduardo Bernal, an officer patrolling the area heard gunshots and was flagged down by someone.
Bernal said the officer found a a man, later identified as 45-year-old Robert Hatton, dead at the scene and a woman with non-life-threatening injuries.
A vehicle fled the area after officers attempted to pull it over, leading to a pursuit that ended on Grove Avenue, about 2-3 miles away, police said.
