Police arrest man accused of killing woman, kidnapping another

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman is dead and another was kidnapped after a Saturday morning shooting in Orlando, according to officials from the Orlando Police Department.

Officers said the shooting occurred in the 4700 block of Harwich Street around 8:04 a.m.

Officers found the victim, 40-year-old Tamalari Renee Arnold in her vehicle, unresponsive and with a gunshot wound. Officials said the Orlando Fire Department took Arnold to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect, 25-year-old Ruddel Pierre, is accused of both shooting Arnold and then forcing another woman into a vehicle at gunpoint.

A witness told authorities that they heard gunshots outside and saw a person, later identified as Pierre, holding a firearm and the second female victim. According to the arrest affidavit, Pierre told the woman to get in the vehicle, and the vehicle sped off. Another witness called 911 and discovered Arnold in her vehicle.

Around 1:30 p.m., the second victim returned to her home and notified law enforcement. Officials said Pierre was apprehended a short time later and was taken into custody.
