ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Magic made it officially official Sunday, announcing the signing of Tyus Jones, bringing the veteran guard to the City Beautiful.
The reported one-year deal is expected to net Jones a $7 million payday.

Jones was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015. He’s played for Minnesota, Memphis, Washington, and most recently the Phoenix Suns, where he played 81 games last season, averaging more than 10 points and five assists per game. He also hit 41% of his three-point attempts, and almost 90% from the free-throw line.
“We are excited to welcome Tyus (Jones) to the Orlando Magic family,” said Magic President of Operations Jeff Weltman in a news release. “He is the ultimate pro, who will bring to our team a blend of IQ, playmaking and shooting. Known for his character and leadership, Tyus will be a tremendous mentor to our young core.”
The signing adds to an active free agency period for the Magic. The team picked up Desmond Bane in a trade with Memphis last month.
They also signed forward Moritz Wagner to a one-year, $5 million deal, according to the Associated Press. Wagner tore his ACL in December, but is hoping to be ready for the upcoming season.
