‘Marrrk’ your calendars: Opening date, menu revealed for Pirates of the Caribbean pub at Magic Kingdom

BAY LAKE, Fla. – The opening of Magic Kingdom’s first official pub is on the horizon.

Set to a Pirates of the Caribbean theme, The Beak and Barrel will welcome landlubbers starting Aug. 29, according to the Disney Parks blog.

The pub has an original story and characters, with a lively ambience you’d expect to find in a pirate tavern, plus familiar ties to one of Disney World’s all-time favorite attractions.

Along with the songs and swashbuckling tales to be told at the tavern, Disney also revealed a pirate-worthy culinary spread.

Reservations were set to open Aug. 14, but due to technical difficulties, Disney announced it will launch on Aug. 20.

Alcoholic drinks

Salty Seas mARRRgarita at The Beak & Barrel (Disney Parks)

Salt Seas mARRRgarita: A classic cocktail with a colorful twist features Southeast Asian flavors, such as ube which gives it the striking purple color, as well as Lalo Blanco Tequilla, Cointreau Liqueur, and lime.

Siren’s Whisper: Combining Pot & Column Still White Rum with citrus and spice. This sip was inspired by the Fountain of Youth, also known as the Aqua de Vida from the films. For the final drop of allure, the drink is topped with a special siren tear.

Barrels Ablaze: Jack Daniel’s Bonded Bourbon with a hint of honey, and a dash of spice.

Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale: A lightly sweet and refreshing taste of topped with prosecco, it’s a bubbly effervescence, combined with hibiscus, demerara, and citrus that will make you feel like you’re charting the Atlantic.

Port of Call: London Dry Gin, Ruby Port, lemon juice, and spiced cranberry.

Lit Fuse: With Los Siete Misterios Doba -Yej Meszal, and flavors of banana, coconut, and smoked chili bitters.

Plunderer’s Punch: Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, vanilla, and a hint of citrus. For some added treasure to take home with you, this sip comes in a souvenir pirate skull mug. This special loot is limited to one per guest.

Wines and Exclusive Draft Beers

Beak and Barrel will offer exclusive draft beers, including Victory Brewing Co.’s Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale and Wicked Weed Brewing’s Berried Treasure Session Sour. Guests can also enjoy bottled and canned lagers and IPAs like Modelo Especial Lager, Red Stripe Lager, and Bell’s Two Hearted IPA.

Wine lovers will find plenty to enjoy with wine-by-the-glass selections from around the world. Options include the Spice Route ‘Chakalaka’ Red Blend, Quinta de Santiago Vinho Verde, and Viarae Prosecco.

Non-alcoholic drinks

The Treasure Trove:  A mix of ube, lemon, and coconut is paired with a sweet snack of a vanilla cake plank, chocolate cannonball, and golden caramel popcorn.

The Cursed Treasure: A delicious combination of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and a pirate’s gold cookie.

Food

Kraken’s Catch: Donned with octopus tentacles, this cold salad is marinated in lemon and lime juice and paired with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam.

Island Provisions: A dish that takes flair and flavors from the Caribbean and Central America regions. This shareable bite with plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and toasted flatbread is served with various savory dips.

Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes: This warm corn cake is stuffed with melted cheese, lime sour cream, and chili peppers topped with cotija cheese. There are two paths you can take on your foodie adventure – one with roasted corn and poblano peppers or one with chipotle-braised chicken.
