ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Orlando-area water parks are set to close this week as cold weather bursts into Central Florida.

Universal Orlando Resort announced on social media that Volcano Bay will close on Tuesday, as previously scheduled.

However, the water park will remain closed on Wednesday due to the inclement weather.

Meanwhile, Disney officials said that Typhoon Lagoon is set to close on Dec. 30, and it will remain closed through Jan. 1 due to the forecasted low temperatures.

The strong cold front is expected to arrive in the region by Monday evening, with beach conditions deteriorating as winds kick up.

Temperatures are forecast to drop sharply late in the evening, and neighborhoods northwest of I-4 may feel the chill early, with temperatures in these areas possibly dipping into the upper 30s.

Meanwhile, many inland areas will fall into the low-to-mid-40s, with 50s closer to the coast.
