The theme park said Disney H20 Glow After Hours will return to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon during Memorial Day Weekend and will run every Saturday through Aug. 27. The party allows Disney resort hotel guests to enjoy the water park three hours after it closes to day guests, giving guests easier access to their favorite attractions. The park’s reopening on Jan. 2 will mark the return of favorite attractions and the debut of new menu items and other commemorative culinary features, Disney said. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Disney World officials say they hope to reopen Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on March 7. Park officials acknowledged they have to get government approval before they reopen one of the water parks. The water parks have not reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic. Any guest who has a pass or ticket impacted by the current closures of the water parks can talk to Disney about their options at 407-934-7639. Disney said they will continue to look for the right time to welcome back more guests and cast members.
Orlando water parks close due to cold weather
ORLANDO – Universal Orlando Resort announced on Twitter that the water park Volcano Bay will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to cold weather. For updates on when the park will reopen, call 407-817-8317. Meanwhile, Aquatica, SeaWorld Orlando’s water park, will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be closed through Wednesday because of the cold. Blizzard Beach at Disney World is closed for annual maintenance.
Ex-Disney World worker accused of stealing from water park
ORLANDO, Fla. - Authorities say a 28-year-old former worker at Walt Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon stole cash, credit cards, gift cards and other items from an employee locker room at the water park. An Orange County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit says Shariel Agosto knew how to navigate the behind the scenes area of the water park. She is accused of using the cash and credit cards to buy gas for her car, food at a restaurant and of attempting to purchase $250 in alcohol. The Orlando Sentinel reports Agosto was arrested Aug. 1 on charges including unlawful possession of a stolen credit card and petit theft. Agosto is being represented by the public defender's office in Orange County.

click to enlarge Photo via Disney Parks BlogA former employee at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon was accused of going back to the water park and stealing workers' credit cards.Shariel Agosto, 28, was charged with petit theft, credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, according to an affidavit from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.Agosto, a Windemere woman, admitted to the crimes on Aug. 1 during questioning by officers, the affidavit stated.She allegedly took credit cards, cash and gift cards out of bags and purses in the locker room of the park, then used them to buy food, gas and alcohol.Agosto spent $48.21 on gas at Speedway, $32.45 at Gators Dockside, and $79.84 on alcohol at Publix, according to the arrest report.She used to work at Typhoon Lagoon, and worked for a third party at Disney Springs at the time of the thefts. She used that know-how to sneak into the locker room, the affidavit stated.
