As the Arnold Palmer Invitational unfolds this week at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, several longtime volunteers are reflecting on decades of service while encouraging the next generation of women to pursue their goals.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Central Floridians saw a great couple of March weather days this week. Wednesday had a high of 75 degrees, Thursday afternoon Central Florida hit 74 degrees. Central Florida will end the day with high of 78 degrees and lots of sunshine. During the day Saturday, Central Floridians will watch the showers overrun Central Florida. The early arrival of the rain will make for a daytime high of only 64 degrees on Saturday afternoon.

The fans were limited in numbers but they all wanted the same dose of entertainment provided by Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau. Defending champion Tyrrell Hatton shot a 77, while past Bay Hill winner Francesco Molinari took a step back from his progress with a 78. He made three of his birdies on par 3s, the strength of Bay Hill. Through it all, it was the activity outside the ropes at Bay Hill that stood out. The tournament is allowing 25% of capacity — roughly 5,000 fans a day — and when most are watching some of golf's bigger draws such as McIlroy, DeChambeau and Spieth, it feels even larger.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The last PGA Tour event to be completed was the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando in early March. Now, in the face of the coronavirus crisis, The Arnold And Winnie Palmer Foundation is stepping in, doing its part to help those in need in Central Florida and around the country. The Palmer Foundation has provided person protective equipment, or PPE, to Orlando Heath hospitals. It’s also partnered with Florida Citrus Sports to address children’s educational needs in West Lake. Additionally, The Palmer Foundation is assisting the charities typically sponsored by the PGA Tour events that were canceled because of coronavirus.
