Woman convicted in death of young boy in Orlando daycare van appears in court
ORLANDO, Fla. โ A hearing was held on Friday for the woman who was sentenced to ten years of probation for the death of 3-year-old Myles Hill. Hill died in 2017 after he was left in a hot daycare van outside the Little Miracles Academy in Orlando. According to court documents, Deborah St. Charles violated her probation after she traveled to Polk County in May, two months after her sentencing. Documents show St. Charles was supposed to ask for permission first from her probation officer though that never happened. On Friday, the state asked the judge to dismiss St. Charlesโ violation, which she granted though St. Charles will be back on probation once sheโs released from jail.
Sentencing delayed for Orlando day care driver charged in hot van death
ORLANDO, Fla. โ The former Orlando day care driver accused of killing a three-year-old boy after leaving him alone in a hot van will soon learn her fate, but not as soon as initially expected. The sentencing phase for Deborah St. Charles was scheduled for Monday morning but had to be rescheduled after the judge became sick, courthouse officials said. A new date for St. Charlesโ sentencing has not been determined. "I understand from my negligence, but I never did something like this on purpose," St. Charles said. Orlando Police said she left three-year-old Myles Hill alone in a van outside of the Little Miracles Academy for more than 12 hours.
