Other Orlando venues, including the Winter Park Playhouse and the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, have already invested in this safeguard measure. "As more vaccines become available, and Oscar contenders such as(opening this Friday),, androll out this month and next, we hope to see more attendees, and are very pleased the installation of our new HVAC coincides with the arrival of these award-winning films. "It's also worth mentioning that the annual Florida Film Festival presented by and at the Enzian is scheduled to kick off on April 9.The Enzian is currently operating at 50 percent capacity with socially distanced seating. The Theater is also running an outdoor series, Fountain Features, though their February FF programming is currently sold out.

January will mark a new beginning for Orlandos film slam programs both of them.The Enzian Theater will continue its slam (a showcase and competition for student, independent, low-budget and no-budget short movies from Florida filmmakers) on January 19, but it will now be known as Central Florida Film Slam (CFFS). In addition, the Enzian has formed a CFFS advisory board that will include nearly a dozen industry professionals, including former Florida Film Festival programming coordinator Clementine Leger.Perhaps the biggest change is that one film from among the six monthly winners will now automatically be accepted into the Florida Film Festival. The fact that a film can now move directly from CFFS to the Florida Film Festivals Florida Shorts program is huge. But this week's Midnight Movie the first of four playing this month is a real treat. A movie about teenagers who stay late at the mall to bone at a furniture store only to find that the mall's security robots (not a real thing, '90s babies) have malfunctioned and are out for blood, Chopping Mall is a veritable checklist of '80s horror. We are going to continue calling ours FilmSlam, and we are doing a rebranding just so that its clear that its Enzian FilmSlam. As Orlandos local art-house theater, Enzian and its film slam [sic] program is the perfect setting for students to gain experience in the independent film industry. )The 2020 dates for Enzians FilmSlam will be Jan. 19, March 8, May 17, June 14, August 9 and Oct. 11.

Hillenburgs sense of absurd humor is one of the reasons the show garnered a cult following from ostensible adults in the early 2000s, and it probably peaked with this feature. Parents may grumble that a so-called kids movie is scheduled for way after bedtime, but this screening isnt really geared toward the younguns as much as those who were young when it first debuted.9:30 p.m. Tuesday; Enzian Theater, 1300 S.
