Get a virtual courtside seat during Magic playoff game
ORLANDO, Fla. Fans now have a way to be courtside while watching the Orlando Magic in the NBA playoffs -- without ever leaving their home. Florida Blue is hosting a contest offering a limited number of virtual courtside seats to allow fans a one-of-a-kind experience while cheering on Orlandos hometown NBA team. Fans who win will be projected in the seats courtside as the Magic take of the Milwaukee Bucks next week, bringing their virtual presence to TV screens everywhere. People have until Friday to register for their chance to virtually be at the game. The Magic take on the Bucks Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Free flu shots offered across Central Florida
If you havenโt gotten a flu shot yet, this might be a good time to get one. Florida Blue and Walgreens are offering free flu shots Tuesday at five locations across Central Florida. Regardless of what insurance you have, or if you donโt have insurance, the shot is free. Limited free shot vouchers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This yearโs flu season looks to be severe, the CDC has warned.
Florida Blue says they will no longer cover OxyContin for most customers
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Florida Blue, the largest health insurer in Florida, announced Tuesday that it will not cover OxyContin in its commercial lines of business starting Jan. 1, 2018. Medicare Advantage products are excluded from this policy change, according to a statement by Florida Blue. Florida Blue is taking this step as one part of its efforts to fight the opioid epidemic in Florida. This type of consumption can quickly lead to addiction and overdose,โ said Scott McClelland, Pharm.D., vice president of commercial and specialty pharmacy at Florida Blue. Florida Blue said they also established case management programs related to opioid usage that focuses on member education and safety.
