Some heartbroken families look for quick answers after one of their loved ones is killed in a crash, but the investigation afterward can take a long time, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The parents of 18-year-old Nick Miner are still waiting for answers nearly two months after he was killed in an Orange County crash.

Quarterback Nick Miner died Sunday after a car hit him while he was helping a friend get a car out of a ditch Sunday. A tribute is planned for an 18-year-old Orlando high school star quarterback as his football team will play their first game since he was killed in a crash.

The 18-year-old stopped to help a driver on the side of the road when another vehicle collided into his truck.

An 18-year-old Orlando man was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a crash early Sunday when the man’s pickup truck was hit by a sedan as he tried to free a vehicle stuck on the side of Dallas Boulevard in Orange County.
