Global supermarket chain Carrefour will stop selling PepsiCo products in its stores in France, Belgium, Spain and Italy over price increases for popular items like Layโs potato chips, Quaker Oats and its namesake soda.

Peeps Pepsi is now a thing
Now you can eat Peeps and drink them, too. Pepsi and Peeps are teaming up for a new cola that combines the two sweet flavors. Pepsi announced a collaboration with Peeps called PEPSI x PEEPS. AdAll you have to do is post your favorite springtime activities on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #hangingwithmypeeps and tag Pepsi. Pepsi says the new flavor could eventually be sold publicly if thereโs demand for it.

She worked at PepsiCo for 24 years, 12 of them as CEO, before stepping down in 2018.

The join venture gives Pepsi access to one of the leading plant-based meat companies at a time when consumers are increasingly cutting back on meat consumption and looking for healthier, more sustainable foods. Meat giant Tyson Foods, which used to own a stake in Beyond Meat, now has its own line of plant-based meats. U.S. sales of plant-based meat jumped 45% in the 52 weeks ending Jan. 16; traditional meat sales rose 19% in the same period, according to NielsenIQ, a data firm.

Quaker Oats announced Wednesday that it will retire the Aunt Jemima brand, saying the company recognizes the characterโs origins are โbased on a racial stereotype.โ Indeed, the logo was inspired by 19th century minstrel celebrating the โmammy,โ a black woman content to serve her white masters. Richardson said Aunt Jemima epitomizes the dark comfort that some Americans take from imagery of black servitude, so normalized that it's on their box of pancake mix. Earlier this week, the singer Kirby posted a TikTok video called โHow to Make a Non Racist Breakfastโ explaining some of the backstory of the Aunt Jemima brand.
Pepsi in, Coke out on Carnival Cruises starting in 2020
New beverage options will be available if youโre taking a Carnival Cruise in 2020. The popular cruise line announced Wednesday it is replacing Coca-Cola products with Pepsiโs line of beverages on its North American fleet starting in Jan. 2020, according to a press release. โAt Carnival Cruise Line, we invite our guests to Choose Fun, and now with PepsiCoโs extensive portfolio of brands, weโre able to give them more ways to choose a beverage that suits their taste, mood and preference,โ said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. This switch means passengers will have access to PepsiCoโs line of soft drinks as well as bubly, Pure Leaf, Naked Juice, Gatorade, MTN Dew, Starbucks, Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Sierra Mist and Sierra Mist Zero Sugar among others. โWeโre also excited to work with PepsiCo on our shared commitment to sustainability, including a reduced reliance on plastics, and alternative ways to deliver and serve water and other beverages.โ
