RAHEEM MOSTERT

Report: Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert breaks thumb, may miss wild-card game vs. Bills

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert broke his thumb against the New York Jets, leaving his status for Sunday's wild card game against the Buffalo Bills in doubt, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. The news adds to Miami's injury woes in the backfield as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's status remains unclear after his Christmas day concussion against the Green Bay Packers. Tagovailoa has missed two straight games since sustaining the head injury, his third of the season.

Fantasy Football: Early waiver wire pickups for Week 10

It's never too early to look toward your next matchup and a chance to bolster your fantasy football lineups. Here are two options to consider on the waiver wire ahead of Week 10. Wilson split carries right down the middle with incumbent Miami starter Raheem Mostert during the Dolphins' 35-32 win over the Bears in Week 9. And while Mostert scored on the ground, Wilson scored through the air, catching all three of his targets for 21 yards. Dulcich looks like a bright spot at the fantasy tight end position, which has proven to be a headache yet again in 2022.

Fantasy Football: Sit/Start tips for Week 9 of the NFL season

The Bears rank 28th in run defense DVOA and have the highest run rate against them this season. This week the Bears face a pass-funnel Miami defense allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. 1 ranked run defense in DVOA and now leads the NFL in avoided tackle rate. This week the Packers get a much different Lions defense yielding 5.1 YPC, 13 rushing touchdowns and the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. Meanwhile, Buffalo's defense has allowed the fourth-lowest EPA/play and is bottom-five in fantasy points allowed to both quarterbacks and running backs this season.

Bold fantasy football predictions for Week 8

Our analysts reveal their boldest fantasy predictions for Week 8. But what if we told you it was going to deliver a pair of top-five fantasy tight ends? Greg Dulcich looks like a keeper, drawing nine targets last week and delivering a long touchdown reception the week before. Both tight ends are finding the end zone this week and both are catching at least five balls. Dimes is going to finish as a top-three fantasy QB for the second week in a row.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Care/Don't Care: The overlooked Dolphin we should appreciate

He's carried the ball 63 times for 310 yards, good for 4.9 yards a pop, with eight catches and a score layered on top. There was never anything wrong with Chase as an individual, they just needed to diversify his route portfolio a bit while chasing the big plays. They cannot expect Carter to offer the same juice and big plays that Hall brought to the table. They’ll just straight up need the passing game to play better to continue winning. The passing game lacks a counterpunch with Amari Cooper being extremely volatile based on where the game is played.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Stats Notebook: Is there any hope for Najee Harris?

Harris was drafted in the first round of fantasy outfits because he was supposed to get all the volume. That's now come into question with Mike Tomlin saying this week that they'd like to get Jaylen Warren more involved. After taking 71.4% of his snaps outside in Week 4, Moore was an 83% slot player in Week 5 with A.J. Seattle ranks 28th in passing success rate allowed and was just ripped up by the circus-like Saints offense last week. I’d play Moore this week and then look to use him as a trade sweetener before Week 7.

Fantasy Football Week 5 Wrap: Gabe Davis finally gives us what we've been waiting for

Davis' target rate remains way down, but his return to health is huge news for managers who were patient. That said, Rachaad White absolutely should be rostered in all fantasy formats; he remains available in 65% of Yahoo leagues. Mostert also saw more targets, nearly scored a second touchdown and was terrific (6.3 YPC). Smith has been a top-10 fantasy QB this season and is a borderline top-five option this week at home against the pass-funnel Cardinals defense. Jeff Wilson Jr. and Tevin Coleman were both top-12 fantasy backs this week, and Coleman needs to be added in fantasy leagues (0% rostered in Yahoo).

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 5: Scouring for pickups after latest rash of injuries

So in all likelihood, you're gonna need to hit the fantasy waiver wire this week. Gallup has an 1,100-yard season to his credit with Dak Prescott as his quarterback, so his fantasy potential is well established. It's hard to believe there's not at least one manager in every 12-team league who should be adding Gallup this week. Edmonds saved his fantasy week with a 7-yard TD reception, but he was decisively out-touched by the guy who now appears to sit atop the team's backfield hierarchy. Over the next three weeks, they face the Texans, Colts and Giants, which seems like a layup line for fantasy purposes.

Yet, the other running back Miami brought in — Raheem Mostert — has been the one receiving the starter's workload. Mostert rushed 15 times for 69 yards and caught two balls for 12 yards (he also added another 42 return yards) in the Dolphins Week 4 loss to the Bengals. He's gotten double-digit carries in two of the four games the Dolphins have played (Edmonds has one double-digit carry game this season).

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 3: Rookie wide receivers lead priority pickups

Below you'll find a collection of approved pickups, all of them unattached in at least 50 percent of Yahoo leagues. Let's begin with a pair of rookie receivers who blew up in Week 2. Wide receivers on the wireJahan Dotson, Washington Commanders (42%)It's only been two games, sure, but Dotson has looked like nothing less than an uncoverable star. One week after his two-touchdown regular season debut against Jacksonville, he gave us another TD and a two-point conversion at Detroit. Fantasy Football: Early waiver wire pickups for Week 3

It's never too early to look toward your next matchup and a chance to bolster your fantasy football lineups. Here are three options to consider on the waiver wire ahead of Week 3. Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins (43% rostered)Much was made about the Dolphins' backfield this past fantasy draft season. Rookie receiver Jahan Dotson delivered again, collecting four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown — his third of the year. It might be too early to say such a thing, but Wentz might just be good enough to keep three receivers — Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Dotson — fantasy relevant.

Kittle dismisses 'chatter' about Niners trading Garoppolo

(AP Photo/Scott Eklund)George Kittle dismissed talk about the San Francisco 49ers possibly trading Jimmy Garoppolo the way he sheds tacklers after making catches. I think it’s chatter,” Kittle said on the AP Pro Football Podcast. “I think it’s his second or third year of dealing with these exact same rumors every single offseason,” Kittle said. Garoppolo, Kittle, cornerback Richard Sherman, edge rusher Nick Bosa, running back Raheem Mostert and receiver Deebo Samuel all missed at least half the season. I think that was a struggle for us, especially because we have a young team on offense as well.

Washington leads NFC East after gritty 23-15 win over 49ers

Rookies Chase Young and Kamren Curl scored defensive touchdowns as Washington grabbed sole possession of first place in the division after a gritty 23-15 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Dwayne Haskins, the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft, replaced Smith in the second half. San Francisco: travels to the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.

From season-altering to bizarre, injuries hit NFL yet again

From the season-altering (Dak Prescott, Barkley) to the bizarre (Tyrod Taylor, Trent Brown), injuries are playing their traditionally significant role in the NFL. (AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast, File)ARLINGTON, Texas – From the season-altering to the bizarre, injuries are playing their traditionally significant role in the NFL. Brown also recently went back on the COVID-19 list, a newcomer among potential ailments with the NFL playing during a pandemic. Few teams have had the volume of injuries that have hit defending NFC champion San Francisco. New Orleans' star receiver, Michael Thomas, has had a tumultuous season in part because of ankle and hamstring injuries.

A person familiar with the injuries said Monday on condition of anonymity that Garoppolo’s ankle injury and Kittle’s foot injury will sideline them indefinitely. San Francisco already has been forced to play without defensive ends Nick Bosa, Dee Ford and Solomon Thomas; top cornerback Richard Sherman, No. He hurt his shoulder in New England in 2016 and had a season-ending injury for San Francisco in 2018. San Francisco also traded linebacker Kwon Alexander to New Orleans on Monday in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso and a conditional fifth-round draft choice.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo ready for return to New England

(AP Photo/Bill Kostroun)SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Jimmy Garoppolo’s early NFL education came going up against Bill Belichick’s complicated defense each day in practice with the New England Patriots. Now Garoppolo gets his first chance to go up against his former coach and team since being traded away to San Francisco nearly three years ago when the 49ers visit the Patriots on Sunday. “It set me up for everything here, made the transition a lot easier,” Garoppolo said about the work he did with the Patriots. I’m glad that it’s worked out for him and San Francisco. “I think that’s one of the most impressive things about Jimmy,” Shanahan said.

49ers complain about playing surface at MetLife Stadium

(AP Photo/Corey Sipkin)The San Francisco 49ers contacted the NFL on Monday about the conditions of the playing surface at MetLife Stadium after several players went down with injuries in a victory over the New York Jets. The new artificial surface was used in a game for the second time on Sunday. The Niners will play again at MetLife Stadium on Sunday when they visit the New York Giants. Giants coach Joe Judge says his team held several walkthroughs and two scrimmages on the field before the opener, with no one complaining about the surface. “But as far as MetLife field, I think it is fine.

Barkley, 49ers hit with potentially season-ending injuries

Start with running back, where Giants star Saquon Barkley is believed to have torn the ACL in his right knee early in their loss at Chicago. The 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo tried to play through a right ankle injury before Nick Mullens took over for the second half. Tevin Coleman also left San Francisco's win over the Jets with a late knee injury. Along with Lock and Sutton, the Broncos lost defensive end Dre'Mont Jones to a knee injury in their defeat at Pittsburgh. Washington guard Brandon Scherff, who left early in Arizona with a knee injury, was among the offensive linemen hurt around the NFL on Sunday.

49ers blast Jets 31-13, but lose Garoppolo, Bosa, Mostert

Still, short-handed San Francisco had enough to beat the inept New York Jets. Defensive end Nick Bosa and defensive tackle Solomon Thomas were both carted off the field two plays apart with left knee injuries in the first quarter. Two plays later, Thomas was carted off — also with a left knee injury — after an 8-yard reception by Chris Hogan. San Francisco ended the 14-play possession with an 18-yard catch by Jordan Reed for the first of his two TD grabs. ... San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, a first-round draft pick, had two catches for 21 yards in his NFL debut.

Agent: RB Raheem Mostert requests trade from 49ers

San Francisco 49ers postseason breakout star Raheem Mostert requested a trade from the team after being unable to renegotiate his contract. Agent Brett Tessler made the request public on Wednesday after talks with the 49ers failed to lead to a new deal to replace the three-year contract Mostert signed in 2019 when he was still mostly a special teams standout. After months of unproductive talks with the 49ers about fairly adjusting Raheem Mosterts contract (which paid him for special teams) we have requested a trade, Tessler wrote on Twitter. The 49ers already traded running back Matt Breida to Miami earlier this offseason, leaving Mostert, Coleman, Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson as the veteran halfbacks on the roster. He led the 49ers in rushing with 772 yards and ranked second in the NFL to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson by averaging 5.64 yards per carry.

Mostert acknowledges family concern over return to practice

Mostert has remained home in Ohio ever since and is preparing for the upcoming NFL season through virtual meetings. But he knows that eventually he will return to California and begin practice with his teammates on the field. NFL training camp is scheduled to begin in late July and Mostert and his family know that he will take part when that happens. Thats something thats going to be determined once the time comes. When that happens, Mostert will look to build on last years breakthrough season. Im just trying to get back to you know my wide receiver days when I was playing receiver in college.

Raheem Mostert: Central Florida’s Star playing in Super Bowl LIV

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – By now, you’ve probably heard that one of the NFL’s most electric running backs is from Central Florida. What you might not know is that with less than six seasons under his belt, Raheem Mostert already has a storied past in the NFL. The city recently honored him by announcing that Super Bowl Sunday will be named 'Raheem Mostert Day’ in New Smyrna Beach. All rights reserved)Mostert is making waves because of his outstanding performance in the NFC Championship game. If Mostert can play half as well as he did in the NFC Championship, he may soon have another title.

The NFL is looking to Facebook to help fuel international growth

But while both the league and Facebook are focusing on growth in 2020, their targets are a bit different. Facebook has spent the last five years building its video platforms, which include Facebook Live and Facebook Watch the video-on-demand service that emulates YouTube. The company receives the recaps roughly an hour after each NFL game, and will immediately post a recap after Sunday's Super Bowl LIV, too. Facebook Groups has served the NFL well, as it allows fans from around the world to gather in one section to engage with NFL content via comments, likes and reactions. "Growing the game, getting NFL content in front of more fans on a global scale, it's going to continue to grow."
