Zachery Waldo, the man who left his DUI manslaughter trial for lunch and didn’t return, was captured on Wednesday by a U.S. Marshal’s task force, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Zachery Waldo was sentenced last week for a DUI manslaughter case involving the deaths of three people in Lake County in 2019.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Zachery Waldo, the man who left his DUI manslaughter trial for lunch and never returned.

Law enforcement officials are still searching for a Lake County man who went to lunch while on trial for DUI manslaughter and never returned.

A man accused of DUI manslaughter in a 2019 fatal crash in Leesburg that killed three people, including a teen, went to lunch during his trial Wednesday and didn’t come back, according to court documents.

Investigators said a 2019 black Ram pickup, driven by 33-year-old Zachery Waldo, of Mount Dora, was heading east on S.R. A 2018 Toyota, driven by 44-year-old Christopher Smith, of Eustis, appears to have been traveling west on S.R. Smith and his front-seat passenger, 35-year-old Jessica Smith, died at the scene, according to officials. Detectives said he was traveling more than 60 mph over the posted speed limit prior to the crash. Waldo was able to evade arrest until Wednesday night when he was located in the Grand Island area, investigators said.
