The Orange County School Board unanimously voted on Tuesday to approve a controversial proposal to sell the historic 117-acre Hungerford property in Eatonville to Dr. Phillips Charities, a plan that has sparked opposition from town leaders.

A familiar Central Florida charity has reached a multimillion-dollar agreement to purchase 117 acres of the historic Hungerford property from Orange County Public Schools, with plans to return the land to the Eatonville community.

The Orange County Library System will be celebrating Women’s History Month in March with library events and programs teaching the impact influential women have made, according to a news release from the county’s libraries.

The outdoor festival runs from Jan. 31 to Feb 2. in Eatonville with “vibrant performances, interactive art, and a celebration of the cultural contributions people of African ancestry have made to the United States and to the world,” and a Tribute to the Legends event, according to its website.
