FHP says Travis Capps died after being struck

COCOA, Fla. – An 18-year-old lying on a dark road early Friday morning was run over by three vehicles and killed in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Travis Capps, of Cocoa, died in the incident, which was reported around 4:45 a.m. on Citrus Boulevard near Bahia Street in the Canaveral Groves area of Cocoa.

The FHP said a 2006 Ford pickup was eastbound on Citrus Boulevard and ran over the teen, who was lying in the road for an unknown reason.

Two other vehicles, also traveling east on Citrus, also ran the teen over, the FHP said.

The driver of the first vehicle told troopers that he never saw the teen on the dark road.

The crash remains under investigation.
