FHP: Motorcyclist, 22, killed in Orange County crash involving semitruck

Troopers: Crash took place near S Orange Ave., Martin Brower Road

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in an Orange County crash involving a semitruck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the crash took place at 8:45 a.m. while the driver of the truck, which was heading south on Orange Avenue, was trying to turn left into a business at Martin Brower Road.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jeon Carlos Acevedo, of Orlando, was riding north on Orange Avenue at a high speed when he hit the truck in the left turning lane, troopers said.

Acevedo died at the scene, according to the Highway Patrol. He was wearing a helmet during the crash, according to the crash report.

The driver of the truck was not injured, troopers said.

FHP said troopers are still investigating the crash.
