Fatal crash investigated near Osteen-Maytown Road in Osteen

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash on State Road 415 in Volusia County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal wreck happened around 9:30 p.m. on S.R. 415 near Osteen-Maytown Road in Osteen.

According to an FHP crash report, the Sanford man was in a grass median when a vehicle traveling north on S.R. 415 went into the median, hit the pedestrian and drove away.

Troopers said there were no reported witnesses to the crash.

S.R. 415 was closed for hours before it was reopened.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-8477.

An investigation is ongoing.
