Bicyclist dies nearly 2 weeks after being struck by vehicle in Titusville

Crash happened along the 600 block of North Dixie Avenue

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle on March 14 has died nearly two weeks after the crash, according to a Titusville Police Department news release.

Police said the crash happened in the 600 block of North Dixie Avenue around 7 a.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, a GMC Sierra truck – being driven by a 40-year-old Titusville man – was traveling north on North Dixie Avenue when he struck the bicyclist who was also traveling north on the same road.

Police said the driver of the truck pulled over, called 911 and remained on the scene.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries on March 25, according to the release.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department.
