Motorcyclist killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

Crash happened on SR-417 entrance ramp from SR-528

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Orange County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened on the S.R. 417 entrance ramp from S.R. 528 around 5:51 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Harley Davidson Road Glide Special was traveling on the northbound entrance ramp to S.R. 417 from westbound S.R. 528 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off of the road.

Troopers said the vehicle then went down an embankment and crashed into a tree.

According to the report, the driver – identified as a 53-year-old Sebastian man – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
