ORLANDO, Fla. – A Lamborghini driver and his passenger were killed early Friday in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 528 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The double-fatal crash happened around 2:15 a.m. on S.R. 528 east near Orangewood Boulevard, south of Orlando.

According to troopers, a 41-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan above the speed limit on S.R. 528 east and failed to stop for a Ford F-550 that was also eastbound.

The front of the Lamborghini struck the back of the truck, and the Kissimmee man and his passenger, a 41-year-old Windermere man, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead, the FHP said.

The driver of the truck, a 58-year-old Altamonte Springs man, was not injured and remained at the scene, troopers said.

Both victims and the truck driver were wearing seat belts, according to an FHP crash report.

The deadly wreck prompted the closure of all eastbound lanes of the Beachline in the area, but they were later reopened.
