An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he attacked a trooper following a crash on State Road 528, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Troopers said the crash happened on State Road 528 at mile marker 25.5 at around 5:45 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said a trooper was walking toward the crashed car when the driver came at the trooper. Troopers said they located the man off State Road 528 near Dallas Boulevard. The Florida Highway Patrol says a trooper was attacked by a driver who had just crashed a car on S.R.wftv.com
Person dies in septic truck crash on Beachline in Orange County

One person killed in S.R. 417 rollover crash
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are working to figure out what led up to a fatal crash in Orange County on State Road 417. The crash happened Monday evening along SR 417 near the exit to State Road 528. Troopers tell News 6 the driver of a Jeep lost control and hit a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn. Investigators say one person died at the scene. Another person was also in the vehicle and pulled from the wreckage, but troopers have not said how badly they were hurt.
Man dies after accident working on Virgin Trains project in Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. Authorities say one worker died while working on the Virgin Trains project in Orlando near State Road 528, reports The Associated Press. The accident happened Thursday morning as 33-year-old Marcus Green and another man were working to clear standing water that had accumulated over an inlet due to recent heavy rain. A spokesperson for the Orlando Fire Department said the workers were in an overflow drain that began to flow sweeping them away and trapping them under the road. Orlando Fire Department crews rescued them but Green died from his injuries. The other worker was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Woman's body found near State Road 528 in Brevard County

Authorities said the body was found by people launching a boat in the area near mile marker 50 on State Road 528. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to determine what happened to Marrotta leading up to her death. Deputies said they would like to speak with anyone who may have seen or had contact with her since Oct. 25. FEMA rejects Brevard's request to help repair or replace bridge still closed after Irma
The county asked FEMA for either $2 million to help pay for repairing the bridge or $4 million to help pay to replace it. One such detour is using State Road 528, which is just south of and parallel to Sea Ray Drive. Abbate and other county staff plan to detail the options to county commissioners in November or December. "Ultimately, the appeal (to FEMA) may be rejected, in which case FEMA will make no repair reimbursement to the county," county officials said an agenda report to county commissioners. "In that event, the (County Commission) would bear the full cost of the bridge work to repair or replace the Sea Ray Drive Bridge."

Steve Lo asked, "Do the express lanes of State Road 528 cost more to use?" Trooper Steve said the answer is no, at least for now. "The new express lanes located on S.R. 528 from the Florida Turnpike to I-4 are fully functioning, however, there is no additional cost to use them, but there is a price," Trooper Steve said. 528 is a toll road and it costs a fee to use the highway, so drivers are already paying to use the express lanes.

Virgin Trains construction to close lanes along Beachline
