FDOT plans fix for SR-528, Florida’s Turnpike, and Orange Blossom Trail interchange

New ramps planned to ease one of Orange County’s most congested crossroads

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s constant confusion and frustration, along a busy area in Orange County where three major roads all converge — State Road 528 meets the Turnpike and Orange Blossom Trail.

Improvements are coming to the area, as leaders will be taking a closer look at FDOT’s design during the Metroplan Municipal Advisory Committee.

The idea is to add more ramps to the area with the goal of minimizing congestion, confusion, and ultimately accommodating future widening of the turnpike.

Right now, FDOT is in the third phase, which is the design phase. Two more phases follow - the right-of-way acquisition and construction.
