FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – The 33rd annual Biketoberfest starts Thursday in Daytona Beach.
In nearby Flagler County, law enforcement is preparing for the traffic influx.
The sheriff’s office says it will step up traffic safety enforcement and education details, targeting high-crash locations.
Deputies will also have DUI patrol units countywide.

Biketoberfest runs through Sunday in Daytona Beach, with events taking place outside the city as well. In addition to vendors and live music, there is racing at Daytona International Speedway, bike shows, and scenic excursion rides. Find more information on the Biketoberfest website.
While there are no official Biketoberfest events in Flagler County, the sheriff’s office says the 100,000 visitors in the area will lead to increased motorcycle traffic in the county, and more people in the county’s bars, restaurants and hotels.
The sheriff is urging people to be prepared for the increase in visitors, stay vigilant and when it comes to motorcycles, look twice before switching lanes.
