ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison following his involvement in a 2021 crash that killed five people in Orange County, court records show.

On March 11, 2021, a Hyundai carrying six people — including two sisters and their three children — was traveling westbound on Clarcona Ocoee Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Gaymar Drive but traveled into the path of an eastbound SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The front of the SUV struck the side of the Hyundai, which troopers said was ripped in half. Both vehicles overturned and five people in the Hyundai were ejected, according to FHP.

Those five, identified as Antoinette Oliver, 30; Liza Jackson, 25; Chloe Oliver, 5; Olivia Jackson, 4; and King Oliver, 5 months old; were pronounced dead at the scene, an FHP crash report states, adding the SUV was traveling at an “excessive speed.”

Osbaldo Patino-Vazquez was arrested in March 2022, nearly a year after the crash, to face five counts of vehicular homicide.

Patino-Vazquez later pleaded no contest to each charge. He was sentenced on Nov. 18 to 25 years for each charge — to be served concurrently — with credit for 169 days of time served, records show.
