MELBOURNE, Fla. – A man died after the pickup truck he was driving through Melbourne crashed into a concrete pole on Thursday, according to police.
The Melbourne Police Department said in a statement that it started getting calls around 4:19 p.m. for a crash near the intersection of S. Harbor City Boulevard (U.S. 1) and Roosevelt Avenue.
The man was identified as Randy Dale Turley, 65, of Palm Bay, according to police. He was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 south on S. Harbor City Boulevard when the truck left the road and struck a concrete pole near the intersection with Roosevelt Avenue, police said.
Brevard County Fire Rescue took Turley to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the statement reads.
