APOPKA, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash late Monday night in Apopka, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Marvin C. Zanders Avenue and West 17th Street.
According to an FHP report, an unknown vehicle was traveling south on Marvin C. Zanders Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was “possibly laying in the southbound travel lane”, north of West 17th Street.
The driver did not stop after the collision, continuing south on Marvin C. Zanders Avenue. The pedestrian, a 46-year-old male from Apopka, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
At this time, FHP said there is no information on the suspect vehicle or its driver.
