ORLANDO, Fla. – This week is all about vehicle restraints as law enforcement agencies across Florida ramp up enforcement for the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign.
The goal is simple: remind drivers and passengers just how important it is to buckle up every single trip.
For this week’s Trooper Steve on Patrol, I focused specifically on car seat safety and some of the little things parents and caregivers should double-check when installing them.
One of the biggest things? Make sure the car seat is properly secured with very little wiggle room once installed. I also demonstrated a few simple tricks when using your vehicle’s seat belt system to help get that tighter, safer fit.
The reality is that many crashes happen close to home and during everyday trips. While seat belts and car seats may seem like small details, they are often the very things that save lives during a crash.
Throughout the rest of the week, we’ll continue sharing simple reminders and easy safety tips because sometimes it’s the little things that help protect us the most.
