ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is in for a welcome break from muggy, stormy weather.
Drier air is moving in from the north and northeast this weekend. With wind gusts up to 21 mph along the coast, you’ll definitely notice the breeze, especially if you head out to the beach.
Dew points are expected to land in the upper 60s to low 70s, and while that’s still a bit humid, it’ll be “manageable” — not the oppressive, sticky air that’s typical for this time of year. Temperatures across the area are expected to come in below average, with highs in the upper 80s.

Afternoon odds for a passing shower or two stick around 20% to 30%, mostly as spotty, isolated activity. A few quick coastal showers could pop up in the late morning or afternoon, but don’t count on anything widespread as the clouds clear away into the evening. Most spots will stay dry overnight and into early Sunday, although an isolated coastal shower isn’t out of the question.
Planning a beach day? Take caution, as that gusty north and northeast wind is boosting the rip current risk to high along the coast. Stay alert and watch the flags at your favorite beaches.
