Rain chances trend down to end the week

Storms become more scattered Friday afternoon.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rain chances lower a little bit as we end the week and begin the weekend as the mid-level low that’s been charging our sea breeze pushes further west from our area, allowing for some drier air to flow into Central Florida. This dry air won’t cancel out our afternoon storms but will help to reduce our coverage compared to Thursday afternoon.

Friday

We will wake up to mostly dry conditions for our Friday morning drive. Showers and thunderstorms will begin developing around noon, primarily pushing from southwest to northeast. These storms will scatter around Central Florida mid-afternoon with lingering showers for the evening commute. Rain fades around 8pm. Highs will hit the mid 90s with feels like temperatures hovering just north of 100ºF.

This Weekend

Drier air continues to move in to start the weekend keeping rain chances near average for Saturday. Scattered storms will set up across Central Florida early afternoon, similar to Friday. Sunday storm coverage bumps up a little more as our atmosphere gets a bump in available moisture for our sea breeze to latch onto. High temperatures both days will hit the mid 90s with heat indices over 100ºF.
