Milton makes flooding frustrations worse in Edgewater neighborhood

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – New pictures show widespread flooding in a Volusia County community that was already fighting flooding issues over the last few weeks.

Pictures obtained from Edgewater Mayor Diezel DePew show extensive street flooding in the Florida Shores neighborhood.

Neighbors here have been dealing with flooding for weeks, and the city council eventually fired the city manager over it, saying the city was not properly maintaining drainage areas.

In the past few days, Edgewater crews have run pumps at a nearby lake and checked culverts to make sure they are flowing properly.

Some residents tell News 6′s Molly Reed that water is starting to come into the homes.
