VIERA, Fla. – To beat the Viera Hawks this season, opponents had to stop two brothers: Devin and Tre Nixon.
Viera's 10-0 record says it all. The two standout wide receivers helped lead the Hawks to their first perfect regular season in team history.
Devin is a senior. Tre is a junior.
Devin is a little bigger. Tre is a little taller.
They're both speedy, smart and share an ability to turn plays into touchdowns.
The brothers grew up playing football together since they were 6 years old, and they've pushed each other and made each other better.
Tre is one of the top juniors in the entire state. The Gators, the Buckeyes and the Hurricanes all want him. Devin has his own list and will play on Saturdays next fall.
That means the Nixons soon won't be teammates anymore, so they want to keep Viera's perfect run going for as long as possible.
