16 UCF softball team advances to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in program history. UCF Softball Head Coach Cindy Ball-Malone said she is proud of the fight shown this weekend, sweeping all three of their matchups in the Orlando Regional which included a 3-2 win over the Wolverines in 11 innings on Saturday. I’m super proud of these women and what they’ve done and the odds that they’ve fought against. With the Victory, the Knights at 49 wins for the season and one behind a program high of 50 set in 2015. UCF is also now .500 all-time in the NCAA Tournament going 16-16 after Sunday’s win.

Just eight days after agreeing to a 2-for-1 series with Florida, UCF Athletic Director Terry Mohajir just completed another deal, as the football Knights are now scheduled to play a home-and-home series versus the Maryland Terrapins of the Big Ten Conference. The series is set to begin in 2025. The first matchup of the two-game series is scheduled to be played on Aug. 30, 2025 at the Terrapins’ home in College Park, Maryland, while the latter game will be played at the Bounce House on Sep. 9, 2028. Four-year UCF running back Greg McCrae has found a new home, as the former Knight will be headed to Canada after signing a deal to play for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League on Monday. During his four-year tenure with UCF, McCrae rushed for a career total of 2,620 yards, which is the fourth-most in program history. In addition, McCrae finished his Knights career with 29 rushing touchdowns, which is also the fourth-most in program history. Much of McCrae’s success came from his 2020 senior year, where he led the team with his 758 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. McCrae’s 10 rushing touchdowns were the fourth-most in the American Athletic Conference and the nation’s 22nd most.

In recent years, the UCF football team arguably was not given much respect by the College Football Playoff Committee.
