SANFORD, Fla. – The Sanford Police Department has launched a campaign, #SPDKISS, to promote safe driving during the Valentine’s Day holiday weekend as part of the Keep It Safe Sanford (K.I.S.S.) initiative.
“The campaign will encourage officers to educate drivers during traffic stops about the dangers of texting and driving,” officials said in a statement.

The department will hand out Hershey's kisses and a message to encourage residents to drive safely and to refrain from texting and driving.
The department is encouraging drivers to take a picture with officers and the bags of candy, post them to social media and tag the department with the hashtags #SPDKISS, #W82TXT and #DontTextandDrive.
