A Canadian groom is being hailed as a hero after his rescue of a child during his wedding photo shoot went viral.

The episode unfolded Friday night as Clayton Cook and his bride Brittany were having their pictures taken at Victoria Park Lake in Kitchener, Ontario, CBC reported.

While photographer Darren Hatt was taking solo pictures of the bride, the boy was pushed into the nearby water by another child, according to a post on Hatt's Facebook page.

"By the time the bride noticed and shouted out, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety," Hatt wrote. "His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim."

Hatt, unfazed, kept shooting and captured two photographs as Cook made the rescue in his three-piece suit. He told CTV he's certain the groom's quick-thinking saved the boy's life.

“The kid was under water on his back," he said. "He ingested water and there was mucous coming out of his nose.”

The pictures uploaded by Hatt have since been shared more than 1,000 times.
